Implantable neuroprosthetic systems
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced engineer/scientist in implantable neuroprosthetics.
We aim at designing, prototyping and evaluating a neuroprosthetic platform supporting the flexible design and fabrication of long-lasting, biocompatible, personalized and implantable neural systems that meet the specific requirements of a broad range of neuroprosthetic applications (in particular in the context of paralysis and deafness).
The candidate will join a dynamic consortium of material scientists, engineers, neuroscientists and clinicians. Research will be performed at EPFL – Geneva, Campus Biotech and within the Translational Neuroscience platform in Fribourg.
Background: The ideal candidate should have a PhD in neuroengineering, electrical engineering, or microengineering. Experience in multidisciplinary research, system integration and neuroprosthetic research is highly recommended.

|OPEN POSITION FOR A DOCTORAL STUDENT|
Wireless sensor systems for on-skin monitoring of biomarkers during rehabilitation
We are looking for a dynamic and talented student who will design, prototype and evaluate fully wearable sensory systems. The latter will host multiple mechanical and physiological sensors together with their associated control, process and powering electronics and a wireless module. The goal is to design a system that will be tested outside of the lab environment, for daily and unsupervised use.
The project is part of the Swiss-wide NCCR in Robotics.
Background: The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor/Master training in electrical engineering, or microengineering. Experience in microfabrication and hands-on project is highly recommended.
